Tone House Gym
“Unleash your inner athlete” is the mantra of this Union Square studio, which boasts one of the city’s hardest workouts. Dim red lighting and a dramatic soundtrack up the intensity during a class that focuses on explosive movements—think sprints, jumps and burpees. Tone House’s most infamous torture device—uh, prop—is a resistance harness: Imagine running, but with 70ish pounds of resistance pulling you back. Makes that treadmill run seem like a 20-minute nap, huh?

I love this place! I just started Crossfit in February (still feeling totally like a beginner!) and moved to Brick from my original box a couple of months ago. The decision to move was easy since my favorite coach Heidi was leaving to start at Brick and it was a no brainer to follow, such is her loveliness, and I am so glad that I did. The WOD's are harder, the space is amazing, the coaches are enthusiastic and it really does feel like one big inspiring community of all abilities, shapes and sizes ranging from complete and utter beginners to scarily seasoned athletes.
It was awesome to have you Uli! We hope to visit you out there in Germany sometime. Hope to see you again soon 🙂
A bit too hard on their color coding but other than that an amazing and fun CrossFit Box. Great Coaches and welcoming community. I came here for a visit from Germany and felt super welcome and was received like I‘ve been a member for years. Loved it!!!
Best trainers and very courteous to the neighbors. I am in the best shape of my life. It's a very supportive community. Don't be shy. Every class features all shapes, sizes, experiences - you will feel so proud after a workout.
